Music Teacher

Question 1.m4a

Question 2.m4a

From this interview I ascertained that there was a notable lack of use of technology for collaboration in music teaching, although virtual systems have been used in the past for online teaching, and the same methods could be used for worldwide collaboration. Cultural exchange was also noted as an important area of music, due to the wide varieties of genres and subcultures of music that can be explored through study of worldwide cultures.

A- A little bit, we’ve learnt a bit about Chinese new year festivals and some Roman history. We get a French class every week as well.

A- Yes we do music every Thursday, its usually just singing though.

Q- Do you ever do any collaboration with other schools?

A- Not really.

Q- And you never had a pen pal or anything like that?

A- I think they used to but not anymore.

“My family came over just as I was finishing primary school, it was tough to adjust to a whole new culture as well as starting intermediate with no one I knew. There was a lot of bullying for being 'different' and little opportunity to make friends as we also lived rural, personally I would recommend getting your child into sports they enjoy or other activities that encourages them to spend time with kids their age.”
