Pitch Writing

Investor Pitch

I began my pitch with a question for the investors. This gains their engagement from the start by causing them to consider their own personal experiences and how they may have been affected in the past by the same problem the product aims to solve. I then used a personal anecdote to further gain engagement, and to show the investors how I have seen the challenges of the industry for myself, and seen how one of my user groups, the tour guides, can benefit from my product. I then explained the premise of the product to the audience, an online platform which puts users in contact with tour guides to save their time and provide them with a more efficient and satisfying experience, and give a platform to freelance tour guides for them to work on their own without reliance on agencies. I also shared some of my industry research with the investors, to show them that despite the job loss in recent years, the industry is even more profitable and in demand than ever before, and the product fills a unique gap in the market by filling these jobs and keeping up with the increased demand for tourism.

Slide Design

I chose to use only black and white for the colour palette, as the slides are to serve as a supplement for what I will tell the audience in the pitch, and should not be distracting. I used the typeface Lexend, as it is an unobtrusive sans-serif typeface, and fits the intended brand I wish to create, which is professional but approachable and accessible.

Logo and Wordmark

Again, black and white are used for minimalism. The logomark is resembles a map pin, with sharp edges and corners to emphasise the modern and digital approach to tour guiding. The typeface Manjari is used for the wordmark, as its rounded edges connote a sense of familiarity and approachability, while the geometric proportions give the user a feeling of trust and stability.
