Something that I found surprising from this lecture was the vast amount of possible touchpoints, this caused me to carefully consider which touchpoint I would apply my brand to.
I chose to design a bank card, with two colours, a red and yellow variation, denoting a credit and debit card. The logomark is used as a large decorative element, framing the wordmark. The background of the card is black, creating a sleek tone. I also used the typeface Alegreya, as it conveys a mood of elegance, compared with the simplistic wordmark typeface, scandia, on the other side of the card.
I also created this experimental business card mockup, using a repeating pattern made up of the brand’s logomark. Although this decorative element is aesthetically pleasing, i feel it takes away from the strength of the singular logomark, and appears too complex to fit with the rest of the brand.
The final piece of application I made this week was a t-shirt. I find that the simplicity is much more fitting to the brand, and the obscuring of part of the logomark makes this an aesthetically desirable product.
