Protopie

I enjoyed creating the prototype of a voice command system, and although the responses were scripted, felt real and immersive, and it was interesting working around the limitations by making the pool of possible commands as large as possible to trigger the correct response. Running the prototype on a mobile device also gave me some insight into how an AR based mobile app would work, with the surroundings visible behind the content.

I was also able to give a sense of personality to the prototype through manipulation of the AI’s voice, this heightened the immersiveness even more as the addition of personality made it seem more like a real human.

I will certainly include voice command integration in my project, and now, if I have time, may if I have time create a more immersive version of the voice command system in Protopie. Nonetheless this was a useful session, as I now have knowledge on how to use a more complex and diverse piece of software.

Brand Development

As advised in the critique session, I moved the circle to the centre of the logomark, and the symbolism is still visible. It also adds a further meaning, appearing like an eye, alluding to body based controls and AR glasses integration.

I was also suggested last week to extend the gradient into the rest of the logomark, but in my opinion this loses the simplicity of the brand, and somewhat obscures its symbolism of a hugging pose.
