This lecture caused me to consider the format and delivery of my investor pitch. Between the two options of laying out the contents of the presentation beforehand or jumping straight into the content of the pitch, I believe the second option is more effective, as it catches the audience’s attention right from the beginning, and can even be opened with a device such as a question or interesting fact which further gains their attention and might even cause them to think more about the problem introduced which the product aims to solve.
I also found the proposed pitch structure insightful, starting with the problem and progressing to the product’s use in solving the problem. In my opinion this briongs the audience through a journey of why the product is necessary, to why it will succeed. I believe this approach also makes the audience think more about the challenges and hardships faced by potential users and empathise in a greater capacity with them. Because of these factors, I will adhere to this proposed structure when I present my pitch, as I believe it will increase chances of investment.
